Pavel Eljanov in the NC World Masters 2023

GM Pavel Eljanov was the outstanding player of the last two International Dortmund Chess Days: in 2021 and 2022 he won the grandmaster tournament in the Sparkassen Chess Trophy. In 2023 the Ukrainian will return to the stage in the Goldsaal of the Westfalenhallen: he will compete in the NC World Masters of the 50th International Dortmund Chess Days.

Defending Champion in the NC World Masters 2023

Dmitrij Kollars made his first appearance in the 2021 Sparkassen Chess Trophy Grandmaster Tournament, narrowly missing out on the tournament win and finishing a strong second, so his participation in the 2022 Germany Grand Prix was also planned. But when Vladimir Kramnik dropped out at short notice, Kollars moved up to the NC World Masters and sensationally won the tournament ahead of Viswanathan Anand.
