After last year's winner GM Dmitrij Kollars was already announced for the NC World Masters 2023 and GM Matthias Blübaum for the Sparkassen A-Open 2023, the third regular player of the German national team has been registered: GM Rasmus Svane will compete just like Blübaum in the strong A-Open in the 50th anniversary of the Chess Days.
In 2010 the Dortmund Supertournament consisted of 6 grandmasters competing in a double round robin. It had reached category 20 and Ruslan Ponomariov started with 2 out of 2 against Peter Leko and Vladimir Kramnik, and later won the tournament. In 2023 he will be one of the top favourites in the Sparkassen A-Open!
After a fantastic year in 2022, GM Matthias Blübaum will also return to the Westfalenhallen Dortmund this summer: the reigning European Champion will take part in the A-Open of the Sparkassen Chess Trophy.
As part of the 50th International Dortmund Chess Days, a well-known and extremely popular face worldwide is returning to the Westfalenhallen. The top player GM Gata Kamsky (USA) will take part in the A-Open of the Sparkassen Chess Trophy 2023!
