Alte Schmiede cultural centre
Once part of the Hansa Dortmund-Huckarde colliery, the "Schmiede" is now a place for cultural gatherings. The cultural centre is run by the Interessengemeinschaft Huckarder Vereine (IHV). The event hall offers space for 200 active chess players, including a stage with stage technology for the event's highlight boards. The foyer has two levels, so that there is enough space for a lounge, catering and analysis area for active players and spectators.

Both the U47 underground line (station Huckarde Bushof) and Huckarde-Nord station are in the immediate vicinity of the venue, meaning that Dortmund city centre and the main railway station can be reached in just 10 minutes. Car parking spaces are also available.
