What a start in the Germany Grand Prix of the 49th Dortmund International Chess Days! After 90 moves and 5.5 hours the third game of the grandmaster tournament also ended with a White win for Pavel Eljanov. 

Last year GM Krishnan Sasikiran won the Sparkassen NC Online Open, but in his preliminary round he only came second in 2021. The winner then was Amir Ali Ghafourian. Today Ghafourian won the second preliminary round in the Sparkassen NC Online Open 2022. 

Today, Saturday, five events of the 49th International Dortmund Chess Days kicked off with a total of 493 active players, from beginners to top grandmasters.

In the first preliminary tournament of this year's Online Open in "No Castling Chess", Jonas Gallasch (photo: Deutsche Schachjugend) emerged as the winner on Saturday with 56 participants on lichess.org.
