The draw for this year's NC World Masters as part of the 50th International Dortmund Chess Days has been made. In the first round last year's winner Dmitrij Kollars will play 3-time Dortmund Champion Fabiano Caruana and Eljanow will play Dortmund's record winner Vladimir Kramnik.
The NC World Masters starts on Monday, 26 June, and thus 2 days after the open tournaments and the Sportland NRW Cup (pairings Sportland NRW Cup). Pavel Eljanov returns to the Westfalenhallen with two tournament victories in the Grandmaster Tournament from the last few years and will compete in No Castling Chess for the first time. He will meet former World Champion Kramnik directly in the first round. Fabiano Caruana is currently number 3 in the world in tournament chess. In his first participation in no-castling chess, he has to play with Black against the German national player Dmitrij Kollars (photo). Defending champion Kollars will start the tournament with two white games and will meet Kramnik in the second round.
The entry is free. All games will take place on the stage of the Goldsaal of the Westfalenhallen Dortmund.
There will be a rest day on Thursday before the players with reversed colours meet for the second time from Friday 30.6.
