The popular chess professional has celebrated many tournament successes - he has been Ukrainian individual champion several times, won the major Czech Open in Pardubice twice in a row and became European blitz chess champion in 2013. His most recent appearance was at the TePe Sigeman & Co tournament in Malmö, where he played strongly for a long time and only missed out on a possible tournament victory by losing in the last round.

Korobov has clearly exceeded the 2700 rating at peak times - he currently stands at 2651, making him one of the favourites for the A-Open of the Dortmund International Chess Days 2024.

The A-Open will once again offer up-and-coming and ambitious players excellent opportunities to play for popular title norms. Early registration is recommended to secure one of the maximum 200 starting places.
