Dmitrij Kollars back in Dortmund again

He made his Dortmund debut at the Sparkassen Chess Trophy 2021: in the highly competitive round-robin tournament, he narrowly missed out on winning the tournament and finished a strong second behind Pavel Eljanov. He then moved up in 2022 and won the NC World Masters ahead of World Champion VIswanathan Anand.

No wonder that the Dortmund International Chess Days have become one of his regular tournaments in the year. In 2024, he is now active in the Sparkassen A-Open and, after his successes in previous years, is a hot contender for the top places in the Open, which is endowed with €20,000 in prize money.

The German national player recently won the Mitropa Cup with the German national team. With 6 points out of 7 games, a performance of 2709, he was the top scorer in the German team.

Registration for the Open is now open: Registration Sparkassen Open
