Winner of the OIBM 2022 plays in the Sparkassen A-Open

The open International Bavarian Championships at Tegernsee are one of the biggest chess festivals in Germany and always have a strong line-up at the top. In November 2022 GM Jan-Christian Schröder won the tournament with 7 out of 9 - in the summer he attacks in the strong A-Open of the 50th International Dortmund Chess Days.

The 24-year-old German grandmaster has a current rating of 2559, is not a professional, but sees himself as a hobby player who plays purely for the joy of chess. After European Champion Matthias Blübaum, Wijk aan Zee Challengers winner Alexander Donchenko and Rasmus Svane, he is already the fourth German absolute top player who will participate in the A-Open!
