Two more strong and well-known grandmasters in Germany have registered for the Sparkassen A-Open with € 4,000 as the first main prize. GM Yevgeny Romanov and GM Krishnan Sasikiran will take part in Dortmund in August.
Both players were already rated well over 2650 ELO, Sasikiran for some time even with over 2700 in the world top. And both grandmasters have already enjoyed some success in German tournaments and in the German national chess league.
Some strong international masters are also new to the list of participants, such as Nico Zwirs, Bundesliga player for the Hamburger Schachklub. As last year, the A-Open will therefore offer excellent conditions to play for title norms (IM, GM, WGM, WIM norms) with good performances. There is space for a maximum of 200 participants in both open tournaments. Early registration therefore ensures a starting place. The list of participants includes all players who have registered via the registration form and transferred the entry fee. The list will be updated for you on a weekly basis!
