Save the date: Sparkassen Chess Trophy from 16 - 24 July 2022 at the Westfalenhallen Dortmund

The chess world can look forward to a chess festival in the heart of the Ruhr region in 2022: The 49th International Dortmund Chess Days will take place as Germany's most prestigious tournament, as this year in the Dortmund Congress Centre of the Westfalenhallen.

The Sparkassen Chess Trophy will offer a number of events. Among other things, the event team is planning two strong open tournaments for club players of all levels. After a successful Online Open in the last edition, chess friends from all over the world can now once again take to the boards in person under safe hygienic conditions in Dortmund alongside the world-class players themselves. In order to deal with all possible pandemic-related situations in the best possible way, it is planned to have the A-Open and B-Open take place one after the other.
The invitations for the open tournaments will be published in detail in January. Registration will start at the same time. Further information on all other events will also be available shortly.
