The Dortmund International Chess Days are delighted to have found a fitting partner: chessemy – The Big Greek Academy is sponsoring the ‘Game of the Day’ award every day during the tournament, in both the A Open and the B Open. This means that one game per day from each Open will be given special recognition.
The winners can look forward to more than just the honour of having their game recognised: they will receive a voucher from chessemy, which they can use to purchase courses from the platform’s extensive range. This turns the award into a tangible benefit that can be invested directly in their own chess training. As well as course videos, chessemy always offers ready-to-use PGN files for download, which can be used straight away to prepare for tournaments.
For participants, this offers an additional opportunity to put their own game in the spotlight. The platform is looking for games that are particularly interesting, instructive, creative or outstanding in terms of their competitive spirit. The ‘Game of the Day’ is selected by a jury based in Dortmund, which includes, amongst others, Grandmaster and live commentator GM Artur Yusupov.
To submit their games, participants will be provided with a dedicated email address for the tournament. They can use this to submit the games they have played for selection. Full details of the procedure will be announced in good time before the tournament begins.
With chessemy, the initiative is backed by a partner that is fully committed to modern and practical chess training. The platform offers over 150 video courses for different playing strengths and training objectives, ranging from openings through the middlegame and endgame to strategy, tactics and chess psychology. The courses are taught by experienced chess players and coaches. This partnership is therefore an excellent fit for the International Dortmund Chess Days and the 400 ambitious Open participants.
“We are delighted to have a partner in chessemy that offers participants real added value. The ‘Game of the Day’ draws extra attention to notable games,” says tournament director Patrick Zelbel.
The organising association, Initiative Pro Schach e.V., would like to thank chessemy for its support and looks forward to receiving many interesting entries from the A Open and the B Open.
